About Me

Ms. Pettus: I teach Kindergarten at Windham Primary School. This is my 14th year as a Kindergarten Teacher. I previously taught in a small school in Massachusetts. Before I taught Kindergarten I also worked in a toddler room and taught Pre-K. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Michael's College in Vermont and a masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State College in Massachusetts. In addition to teaching I love spending time with my family and being outside. I enjoy running, hiking, skiing and going to the beach.

Classroom Wish List

In my weekly newsletter I sometimes ask for donations. These are usually simple items that can be sent in from home when needed. We are almost always in need of tissues and baby wipes (that I use to clean tables!)

What you can do at home!

*READ to your child EVERY DAY!!!

*Help your child become independent in tying shoes, zipping coats and buttoning pants.

*Ask them about the new friends they are making at school, see if they remember any names.

*Practice writing their name and saying the letters in their names.

*practice identifying all the letters in the alphabet, both upper and lowercase.

*See if they can identify the shapes of things around the house.

*Count things around the house and look for numbers.
